Two die as car crashes into auto on Delhi-Alwar Highway in Nuh
Police said one passenger was declared dead on arrival, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment at PGI Rohtak

Gurgaon: Two passengers died and four others were seriously injured after an Alto car allegedly collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw on the Delhi-Alwar Highway in Nuh on Sunday morning. The car driver fled the spot, and police have launched a search to trace him.The accident occurred around 8am near Akeda police station when the auto-rickshaw was travelling from Nuh towards Badkali Chowk. According to police, the Alto, allegedly being driven at high speed, collided with the auto coming from the opposite direction.The impact severely damaged both vehicles. The auto-rickshaw was mangled in the collision, while the car veered off the road and came to rest in nearby bushes.Passers-by rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Nuh Medical College Hospital. Police said one passenger was declared dead on arrival, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment at PGI Rohtak.“The deceased were identified as Dilshad, a resident of Shahpur Ghaghas village in Nagina, and Farhan, a resident of Tai village,” an officer said.The injured include auto driver Ali Mohammad of Mewli village, Taiyab of Tai village, and Natthu and Vikram, both residents of Madhya Pradesh. Police said all four are undergoing treatment and remain in critical condition.After receiving information, a team from Akeda police station reached the spot, took the damaged vehicles into custody and initiated an investigation.Police said the Alto driver fled immediately after the collision. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the driver and establish the sequence of events leading to the crash.A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving on a public way) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS.
