Times News NetworkKanpur: Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya School emerged as champion in the two-day KSS Inter-School Boys’ Chess championship for (Class 6 to class 8) which concluded at Vinyas Public School Mandhana on Friday.Deen Dayal School collected the highest 9 points from five rounds. Shri Sanatan Dharam Education Centre got the second place with 8 points and Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre, which was leading the pack after three rounds on day one, trailed behind and got the third place with 8 points.Harshit Shukla from Gardenia Public School, Raghav Sachan from Woodbine Gardenia School, Shivanshu Nair from DPS Azad Nagar, Advik Maheshwari from DPS Kalyanpur and Sarthak Katiyar from Yugam International School were honoured with medals for better performance in the event.According to Dilip Srivastava, secretary, Kanpur Chess Association, 95 players from 19 schools participated in the championship. Shaila Wali, principal of the host school, presented certificates and medals to the winning school teams.
