Ghaziabad: Two days after the body of a woman, believed to be around 25, was found in Kajipur forest, police are yet to establish her identity. Officers said she was dragged around 40 metres from a spot near NH-9 into a jowar field before being killed.On Thursday around 9am, Parvesh Chaudhary, a farmer who had gone to work in the field, dialled 112 after finding the woman’s body lying about 40 metres inside his jowar field. Cops found drag marks cutting through the crop, which had been flattened along the route leading to the body.Police said there was no blood on the route, indicating she might have been alive but unconscious. “There was a lot of blood where the body lay, indicating she was killed at that spot,” a senior officer said.ACP (Wave City) Priyashri Pal said photos and other details of the woman have been sent to nearby districts to identify her. She said cops have checked footage from more than 100 CCTV cameras located adjacent to the spot but they have yielded no result. “We are also checking missing persons complaints registered in the district in the last 48 hours,” she said. “More than five teams are working on the case, and one team of police is questioning the people of the nearby areas to find any clue.”Pal also said that the autopsy report confirmed that the woman was murdered after her throat was slit with a sharp object, and multiple injury marks were found on the body. The report did not confirm anything about rape or molestation, and viscera has been preserved.
