Kanpur: A 33-year-old vegetable vendor died after a stray bull attacked him at Lakhna vegetable market in Bakewar police station area of Etawah on Sunday, police said.According to sources, the bull drove its horn into the man’s stomach and slammed him to the ground several times, leaving him seriously injured. . People present at the spot chased the bull away and took the injured man home, where he died.The victim was identified as Amar Kumar, son of Rupram Dohre, a resident of village Nagla Khadar. Family members said he used to cycle from village to village selling vegetables to support his family.Amar went to buy vegetables from Lakhna vegetable commission market on Sunday morning when the bull attacked him. Before the people present could drive it away, it seriously injured him. The incident created a brief atmosphere of panic in the vegetable market.With the help of local shopkeepers and others, the injured man was taken to his home. His family was preparing to take him to the district hospital when he died at home.Amar Kumar is survived by his wife Mamta. and 12-year-old daughter Vaishnavi. He lived with his father Rupram, brothers Chandresh and Ashish, and sister Lakshmi. His mother had already died earlier.On being informed, Bakewar station in charge Vipin Malik and Lakhna outpost in charge Deepak Bhati reached the spot with a police force, prepared the inquest report and sent the body for postmortem. Villagers also informed SDM Bharthana Kavya C and other officials about the incident. Police were carrying out further legal action.Malik said the body has been sent for postmortem. Further action will be taken after receiving a complaint from the family, he added.
