The jewellery store owner was seen alerting people outside the store about the theft attempt
At first, it seemed like any other transaction, with customers coming into a jewellery store to purchase ornaments, but then their real intention was revealed when they pulled out pepper spray. In CCTV footage from a jewellery store in Patna, two women, posing as customers, were seen inside it wearing black face masks that partially covered their faces.
As seen in the clip, the shop owner pulled out some pieces of jewellery and began showing them to the two women, as he would with anyone else. The women were seen browsing through various ornaments that the owner was showing them. But the moment took a dramatic turn when one of them pulled out a bottle of pepper spray and sprayed it on the owner’s face.
Despite the sudden attack, the shop owner quickly realised that they were attempting a theft in broad daylight and foiled their attempt. He managed to escape from the shop and raised an alarm, alerting nearby shopkeepers.
Soon, a crowd gathered outside the store. The video, dated June 12 at around 5 in the evening, also captured the crowd confronting the accused inside the shop.
