Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch’s special investigation wing raided an illegal horse race betting racket being run from a house in Jyotinagar, west Bengaluru, and arrested a 65-year-old bookie who was accepting bets from punters through cash and online transactions.The accused, P Sheshadri, was operating the racket from a room on the third floor of a residential building. Police said he was accepting bets on horse races without any valid licence and conducting gambling activities using multiple mobile phones and bank accounts.Cops seized four phones, a tablet device, calculator, pens and 15 sheets containing horse race details and betting records. Investigators found some of the seized phones were linked to bank accounts used for handling betting transactions.
