Thiruvananthapuram: Former DGP and BJP state vice-president R Sreelekha raised plagiarism allegations against Shine Nigam starrer film ‘Dridam’. In a social media post, Sreelekha alleged that the core idea of the film’s story has stark similarities with a short story written by her.“There is nothing wrong in saying that the core idea of the film is a copy of my short story — Karinkudy police station,’’ Sreelekha alleged. She also alleged similar charges against another film by Nigam — ‘Bhoothakalam’. She said that film was a copy of an experience she shared on her YouTube channel five years ago.Sreelekha said she liked the actor Nigam after watching his film ‘Parava’. Sreelekha said she liked the actor for his similarities to a police officer whom she considered as her younger brother. She said she watched the film Dridam by chance. The former cop, who currently represents Sasthamangalam ward in Thiruvananthapuram corporation, however, did not mention whether she has plans to register any formal complaint.
