Prayagraj: International Yoga Day has now transcended the scope of a mere one-day event. The Yogi government aims to transform it into a mass movement, and preparations are intensifying in Prayagraj as ‘Yoga Week’ will be observed from June 15 to June 21 to convey the message of a healthy and disease-free body on the global stage.Dr. Naveen Soni, Regional Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, appointed as the nodal officer for this initiative, said that a series of events will be organized across the district throughout the week. Yoga Week will be inaugurated on Monday at the Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Park (Company Bagh. Yoga practice sessions will be held daily from 6:00 am to 8:00 am.Preparations are underway for the Ministry of AYUSH to set a world record at the Sangam ghats on the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day.District Magistrate (Prayagraj) Manish Kumar Verma said that as many as 11,000 people would perform yoga at the Sangam banks. To facilitate online participation, the Ministry of AYUSH has introduced a missed-call service by giving a missed call to the number 18003157008, and participants will receive a link to join.Participants can become part of the record-setting event by joining the live session between 6:15 am and 7:35 am.Gulshan Sharma, District Youth Welfare Officer ( Prayagraj), said that members of the ‘Yuva Mangal Dal’ (Youth Welfare Groups) and ‘Mahila Mangal Dal’ (Women’s Welfare Groups) have been mobilized in all development blocks that have mini-stadiums, with the aim of inspiring villagers to practice yoga. They will gather the active members of their respective Gram Sabhas on that day at the mini-stadiums located in nearby development blocks to participate in the yoga session.
