Dimapur: Nagaland chief secretary Sentiyanger Imchen on Thursday directed all departments to formulate practical and implementable action plans to enforce the plastic-free initiative, beginning with the Nagaland Civil Secretariat.Chairing a meeting of the administrative heads of departments and heads of departments at the secretariat conference hall in Kohima, Imchen asked departments to lead by example in promoting environmentally sustainable practices.During the meeting, home commissioner Abhijit Sinha highlighted the govt’s Plastic-Free and Green Office Initiative and urged departments to avoid the use of single-use plastic during official programmes and office events. He called on all departments to strictly adhere to the initiative and work collectively to create plastic-free govt offices.Principal secretary & development commissioner Y Kikheto Sema directed all departments to complete activities under the State Plan in accordance with the prescribed calendar of action timeline to ensure timely implementation of govt programmes.
