DHARMAPURI: A 36-year-old man, who had been missing for three days, was found trampled to death by a wild elephant near the Kalappampadi forest area in Dharmapuri district on Wednesday.The deceased has been identified as Subramani of Athimarathur village near Pennagaram. Subramani, son of Chinnasamy and his wife Sivabakkiam, was suffering from mental illness. He went missing on Sunday, and family members and relatives searched for him. On Wednesday, they found his dead body near a farm well. Villagers informed forest and police officials, who reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Dharmapuri Govt Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. Investigations revealed that he had been trampled to death by an elephant, police said.
