Two men arrested in connection with coworker’s death near Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: The Sirumugai police in Coimbatore district have arrested two guest workers in connection with the death of a 27-year-old man who was their coworker. The deceased has been identified as Pisi Yadav, 27, from Bihar, who was employed at a private firm in Jadayampalayam near Sirumugai. Police initially registered a case under Section 194 of the BNSS for suspicious death, based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s brother, Roshan Kumar, 21. According to police, Pisi Yadav was involved in a quarrel with his co-workers on July 16. He was later admitted to govt hospital in Mettupalayam, with claims that he had sustained injuries in a road accident. On July 18, Roshan Kumar was informed that his brother had died without responding to treatment. He lodged a complaint with the Sirumugai police on July 18. During investigations, police questioned two of the deceased’s co-workers, Ujith, 43, and Ajith Jamadar, 38. Both are natives of Bihar. Inquiries revealed that the suspects allegedly assaulted Pisi Yadav in their residential quarters in the early hours of July 17 following a dispute over repayment of money. He was later taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Based on the evidence collected, police altered the case on July 19 from suspicious death under Section 194 BNSS to Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the BNS. Both were remanded in judicial custody.
