Kanpur: The discovery of a man’s body by the roadside in Panki Industrial area on Monday morning caused a stir, while another young man was found injured and intoxicated some distance away. Blood stains were found on the wheels of a truck parked nearby, which police took into custody as they began an investigation. The deceased was not identified.People saw the body lying by the roadside in the industrial area under Panki police station limits on Monday morning. Locals informed Dial 112, after which police from Panki police station reached the spot and inspected the scene.Police also found a young man in an injured condition at some distance from the body, and he was said to be intoxicated. A truck was parked near him. After seeing blood stains on the truck’s wheels, police expressed suspicion of an accident.In the police’s preliminary investigation, it was suspected that both men were present around the truck at night, and an accident may have occurred for some reason. However, police were also investigating other angles apart from an accident. The injured man was immediately sent to a private hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.Police took the truck into custody from the spot. With the help of the forensic team, the blood stains and other evidence would be examined.The deceased is said to be about 25 to 30 years old. No identity card or mobile phone was found on him. Panki Station House Officer Dinesh Kumar Bisht said that the body has been taken into custody and efforts are being made to identify it. CCTV footage is also being examined. Only after the postmortem report arrives will the exact cause of the man’s death be clear.
