Ballari: An FDA at the Siruguppa Tahsildar’s office and her son were arrested by Ballari Lokayukta police on Wednesday for allegedly accepting a Rs 1.1 lakh bribe to convert land records from ‘Inam’ to ‘Patta’.The accused, Suvarna and Deepak, were caught in a trap after complainant Govind of Bairapur village alleged that the FDA demanded the bribe to process conversion of his 7 acres and 68 cents of land and asked him to hand over the money to her son.Acting on the complaint, Lokayukta police laid a trap using chemically treated currency notes and apprehended Deepak while he allegedly accepted the money on his mother’s instructions. Suvarna was also arrested.Police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, seized the tainted cash and took both accused into custody for further interrogation.
