Nagpur: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has stepped up preparations for its protest planned in Nagpur on June 16. The protest will be led by CJP’s founder Abhijeet Dipke, who virtually addressed party workers during a review meeting held in Sonegaon on Sunday.Dipke is expected to arrive in Nagpur only a few hours before the protest. While the final itinerary is yet to be announced, Anurag Jain, founder of the Yuva Cockroach Janta Party, told TOI that they expect Dipke to first visit Deekshabhoomi before participating in the protest. Jain said the protest would remain focused on issues related to education and question the Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The party is planning to approach coaching institutes to allow students time to participate in the agitation. Jain said the organisation does not expect NEET aspirants to actively participate in the protest as the agitation is being held just days before the NEET re-test. “We are fighting for the students and do not want to disrupt their studies. However, we are in touch with several coaching institutes in Nagpur and will request them to allow students a three-hour recess so that those willing can join the protest and return to their classes,” Jain said.As per Jain, meetings have been scheduled with representatives of various coaching institutes ahead of the agitation. Jain said Dipke initially approached local party members through social media and proposed staging a protest in Nagpur. He added that supporters are expected to arrive from neighbouring districts, including Bhandara, as well as from Raipur.
