Jhansi: Minister for Tourism and Culture Jaiveer Singh, who is also the newly appointed minister in charge of Jhansi, on Saturday launched a counterattack on Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav over his recent remark that the entire SP would head to Chambal if government agencies were misused.Responding to Yadav’s statement during a visit to Jhansi, Singh said that the SP chief had inadvertently revealed the “true character” and “core ideology” of his party.“Akhilesh Yadav has exposed the original foundation of his party. When elections were conducted through ballot papers, the first Lok Sabha constituency in the country where polling had to be cancelled and re-conducted was Mainpuri. His brother Dharmendra Yadav was the parliamentary candidate there,” Singh alleged. The minister further claimed that the election was marred by widespread booth capturing, intimidation and disorder.“There was large-scale dumping of ballots, hooliganism and anarchy. At that time, Mulayam Singh Yadav was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh,” he said.Continuing his attack, Singh said that such practices reflected the SP’s inherent political culture.“What Akhilesh Yadav is saying today reflects their original mindset, their basic thinking and their style of functioning. What is coming out in his words is a reflection of the party’s core ideology and working culture,” the minister said.
