Bagalkot: Two passengers were killed on the spot and five others were injured when a truck collided with an NWKRTC bus at Sunaga Cross, Anagawadi KEB office on the Hubballi-Vijayapura national highway on Saturday. The mishap occurred when the truck rear-ended the bus as the former’s driver — allegedly in an inebriated state — lost control over the vehicle. The bus was going towards Vijayapura while the truck was coming from Vijayapura. The deceased are Vani Desai, 26, a resident of Simikeri village in Bagalkot taluk, and Shivakumar Kadliwad, 25, a resident of Nargund in Gadag district. Both were sitting in the back seat of the bus.
