Released ahead of the film’s theatrical debut, indie duo Banjaare’s ‘Barsaat’ reimagines Peter Parker’s heartbreak after ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Gets A Desi Makeover With THIS Haryanvi Track And The Internet Is Obsessed
Spider-Man: Brand New Day finally hit theatres today, but it’s not just the film that’s got fans talking. A surprise collaboration, released just two days ahead of the movie, has taken social media by storm.
In collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment India and Sony Music India, indie music duo ‘Banjaare’ released ‘Barsaat’, an emotional Haryanvi track that reimagines Peter Parker’s heartbreak after the events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.
The music video shifts the focus from high-octane superhero action to Peter Parker’s emotional journey. With MJ, played by Zendaya, no longer remembering him after Doctor Strange’s spell erased his identity from the world, Peter is left carrying the burden of a sacrifice only he remembers. ‘Barsaat’ beautifully captures that lingering heartbreak through its soulful lyrics and intimate acoustic sound.
The three-minute video seamlessly blends footage from the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer with emotional moments from the earlier films, including Peter reliving memories of MJ, revealing his identity to her and confessing his love. The result is a poignant tribute to one of the franchise’s most heartbreaking love stories.
Who Is Banjaare
The song has been composed and performed by brothers Sumit and Anuj, the duo behind the indie act ‘Banjaare’. Speaking about the collaboration, the musicians shared that ‘Barsaat’ was born out of their own experiences with heartbreak.
As quoted by India Today, the duo said, “Barsaat is incredibly close to our hearts. We wrote it during a phase when we were navigating our own heartbreak and personal struggles. Every song we create carries a story, and love has always been at the core of our music.”
Banjaare first shot to fame with their 2026 hit Bairan, which topped the India Billboard chart and went on to cross 264 million streams across Spotify and YouTube. Despite having no formal musical training, the brothers have carved a niche for themselves with their raw storytelling and distinctive indie sound.
Internet Can’t Stop Talking About Barsaat
It’s safe to say the collaboration has struck a chord with fans. Within hours of its release, social media was flooded with praise, with many calling it one of the most emotional promotional campaigns for a Spider-Man film in India.
One user wrote, “I’m so surprised and happy seeing an indie regional artist collabing with a franchise like Spider-Man. Props to you, man. Hard work does pay off.”
Another commented, “Marvel created Spider-Man. Barsaat gave him a soul.”
Echoing the sentiment, another fan wrote, “So glad to see Indian music collab with the OG Spider-Man/Marvel.”
A fourth user summed up the emotional impact of the song, writing, “Uff, such a beautiful song! Felt like my heart was getting squeezed. The visuals and the lyrics—so apt!”
