Property worth Rs 2.3 cr returned

Haveri: Haveri police solved 46 cases including house break-ins and temple thefts, seized property worth Rs 2.3 crore and returned it to the rightful owners on Thursday in Haveri. People expressed gratitude to the police after recovering their cash, gold and silver ornaments.Property recovered by police from all stations was put on display at the event held at Haveri SP office. After obtaining court approval, the items were handed back to the claimants in the presence of SP Yashodha Vantagudi. “From Jan to July 2026, 46 cases in the district have been solved. We have seized gold ornaments worth approximately Rs 1.2 crore, Rs 63.2 lakh cash, vehicles worth Rs 8.7 lakh, silver ornaments worth Rs 34.5 lakh and mobile phones, all of which have been returned to the rightful owners,” said SP Yashodha.“Makaravalli and Byadagi robbery cases are major traces; accused was arrested in Surat, Gujarat. In another case involving a house burglary and gold theft, the accused was traced in Madhya Pradesh. Police department is working to ensure justice for victims,” he said.
