Kanpur: Two minor boys were detained for allegedly stalking a Class VII student and passing lewd remarks at her in the Jajmau police station area. Acting on a complaint lodged by the family of the 13-year-old girl, police registered a case and sent both accused to a juvenile home on Wednesday evening.Jajmau police station in-charge Sanjay Pandey said the 13-year-old girl had been facing harassment for several days. It was alleged that the two boys followed her while she was going to and returning from school and passed obscene remarks at her. The girl later informed her family.Pandey said the family approached Jajmau police station and lodged a complaint against both boys, demanding action.He said police registered a case immediately after receiving the complaint and launched a search for the accused.Pandey said. “The safety of girl students and women is the top priority of the police,” he said, adding that immediate and strict legal action would be taken on every complaint of molestation, stalking or harassment.
