Jhansi: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2026 was conducted here peacefully across seven examination centres on Sunday. The examination was held under strict security arrangements and continuous monitoring by the district administration with no untoward incidents reported.Out of 3,554 registered candidates a total of 3229 aspirants appeared in the examination. Out of seven centres, six were in the Bundelkhand University and one was in GIC.As per the authorities, to ensure a fair, transparent and malpractice-free examination process, all seven centres were sanitized prior to the test and equipped with CCTV cameras and voice recorders. The examination was monitored through a dedicated control room, while static and sector magistrates remained stationed at their respective centres throughout the examination. Students were summoned by 11 am to undergo a detailed checking protocol to ensure strict vigilance.To maintain additional precautions, Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) was enforced across the district.Speaking on the occasion, ADM Shiv Pratap Shukla said the examination was conducted successfully, peacefully and without any disruption. He credited the coordinated efforts of the administration, police department and examination authorities for ensuring a smooth and fair conduct of one of the country’s most important entrance examinations.
