Mysuru: Mysuru City and District police Thursday jointly destroyed drugs seized in cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at an incineration facility in Gujjegowdanapura village under Jayapura police station limits.City police destroyed 80.7kg of ganja from 30 NDPS cases and 314.3 grams of psychotropic substances from 12 cases. The estimated value of the contraband is around Rs 72 lakh.The destruction was carried out as per prescribed legal procedure in the presence of members of the Mysuru City Drug Disposal Committee. KS Sundar Raj, deputy commissioner of police (headquarters, crime and traffic) and chairman of the committee, supervised the process along with other officials.Mysuru district police also destroyed narcotics seized in NDPS cases. Additional SP L Nagesh and members of the District Drug Disposal Committee were present during the exercise.
