Mangaluru: Travelling hundreds of kilometres by road, members of an Andhra Pradesh-based fan club of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan arrived in Mangaluru after learning about his visit for a private event in the city on Thursday through social media.Hailing from Chittoor, Imran, president of SRK Andhra Pradesh Fan Club, said he grew up watching the actor’s films, and said his films would be released in their region two to three months after the actual release.He said he became a fan of the actor after watching the movie ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, and said how he would eagerly wait for film posters to be put up in his town. Over the years, the fandom evolved from watching films to organising first day first shows, sometimes travelling to Chennai to catch screenings, he said.After the release of film ‘Fan,’ Imran became part of existing fan networks, before eventually forming his own Andhra Pradesh fan club, around the release of the movie ‘Pathaan’.The fan club has since expanded, establishing branches across 12 cities in the state. In 2023, the club got an opportunity to participate in a meet-and-greet event, with the group also facilitating a few fans from Andhra Pradesh for the meet and greet event. Alongside Imran, Sulaiman, Nadeem, Sheru, Arif, Udai and Prince visited Mangaluru.
