An Indian man in the US says everyday comforts like quiet parks, sports courts and cleaner surroundings can make returning to India a harder choice after getting used to them.

For some Indians living in the US, staying abroad may be about more than earning more money. An Indian man has shared why everyday comforts and the way his neighbourhood is set up can also affect the decision to move back to India.
Rupesh Pandey shared an Instagram video showing the area around his home. He pointed out that several places to relax and play sports are just a short walk away, making it easy to spend time outdoors without having to travel far.
Parks And Sports Courts Are Close To Home
In the video, Pandey walks around his neighbourhood and shows viewers some of the facilities available nearby. “Look, there are so many good places just a five-minute walk from my house where I can come and sit all day long, and I won’t get bored. Look at this,” he says.
He then shows the park inside his apartment community and points out the basketball court there. “This is the park of my apartment’s society, and there’s a basketball court inside,” he says.
Pandey also takes viewers to a tennis court, which he says he uses from time to time. “This is the lawn tennis court. I come here to play lawn tennis sometimes.”
The walk also takes him near a lake where children can be seen fishing. Pointing towards them, he says, “Look, kids are fishing over there by the lake.” Looking at the surroundings, he adds, “It is so beautiful, bro.”
He Says Everyday Comfort Can Matter More
According to Pandey, it is these simple parts of daily life that can make leaving the US difficult. He said people may get used to having parks, sports facilities, clean streets and outdoor spaces close to where they live.
He wrote in the caption, “The biggest reason people don’t want to move back after experiencing life here isn’t just the money. It’s the little things. Fishing at your neighborhood park on a random evening. Playing tennis or basketball whenever you want. Walking your dog in clean, peaceful streets. Breathing air without constantly worrying about pollution. Once you experience a lifestyle where these simple things become part of your everyday life, it’s hard to let them go. Sometimes, quality of life is worth more than anything else.”

Pandey’s post received support from users who said they understood his point.
A person wrote, “This is true,” while another commented, “Yes, I agree with you.”
A user said, “This is correct.” Another shared a personal reaction, writing, “I can relate with you brother.”
Someone said, “Cant agree more.. walking in cities of India is a nightmare. First footpaths are such you can easily trip over and injure yourself.”
