Pune: About 800 hens worth Rs1.65 lakh were stolen from a tempo parked near the Shivaji Market area in Camp at around 5 am on Monday.Tempo owner Dhananjay Urad (60), a resident of Camp, lodged a complaint with the Cantonment police station. According to the police, “Urad’s tempo driver transported 1,134 hens from a poultry farm in Palthan, to Camp. The driver parked the tempo near Shivaji Market and went home. When Urad and the driver returned to the spot, they found the tempo missing.”They informed the police, who later traced the tempo parked in another lane. However, 800 hens worth Rs 1.65 lakh were found to be missing. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the suspects involved in the theft.
