Prior to the suicide, she wrote a suicide note stating—“I can no longer bear depression and anxiety. I apologize to everyone. Thank you all for everything.”Dr Saumya (27) also mentioned in the note that there were two videos on her tablet. She added that the tablet’s password was the same as her father’s mobile password.It is being reported that she had tried to take her life 16 days earlier, but later decided against it. After completing MBBS, she was preparing for NEET-PG. The matter relates to the Friends Colony police station area.Ravikant Dixit lives with his family in the Arjun Nagar Pakka Bagh area of Etawah city. His wife, Pappi Dixit, is a homemaker. They have two children: their son Shiv Dixit (32) works as an engineer in a company in Bengaluru, while their daughter Saumya Dixit had finished MBBS from a private university in Kanpur and was preparing for NEET-PG.Ravikant runs cold storage and brick kiln businesses. Pappi Dixit had gone to Bengaluru to stay with their elder son. On Thursday, Saumya remained alone at home throughout the day. As usual, her father left for the cold storage in the morning.He returned home at about 8:30 pm and found the house door locked from the inside. He knocked, but did not get any reply. After waiting for quite some time, he had the door forced open with help from people nearby.On entering the room, he found Saumya hanging from a noose. Her father was left shocked by what he saw. Police arrived after being informed and took the body into custody, beginning an investigation.Police from Friends Colony station reached the location with a forensic team, which inspected the scene. Items present in the room were taken into custody. During the enquiry, a suicide note was recovered, in which Saumya wrote that she could not endure depression and anxiety any longer. She apologised to everyone and expressed thanks.Saumya’s maternal uncle, Pallav Dubey, said that after viewing the videos it emerged that 16 days earlier, on 26 May, Saumya had also attempted suicide, though she later changed her mind.The post-mortem was carried out under the supervision of a panel of three doctors, and the full procedure was videographed. The mother and brother reached Etawah from Bengaluru at 11 am on Friday. The last rites were performed at around 3 pm at Yamuna Ghat in the city, with family members and relatives present.Friends Colony police station in-charge Amit Mishra said that after the suicide note was found, the tablet and laptop were checked and some videos were found. Electronic devices and other evidence are being examined in the case, and further action is in progress.
