Sourav Joshi triggers intense social media backlash after filming an intimate rishta meeting for views.

‘Content Ke Liye Kuch Bhi?’: Sourav Joshi Under Fire For Vlogging Brother’s Rishta Meeting
India’s daily vlogging ecosystem has long been criticised for blurring the lines between private life and public entertainment, but one of India’s biggest daily vlogger, Sourav Joshi, might have just pushed the boundary a step too far for the internet’s comfort.
Social media has erupted in a wave of secondhand embarrassment and genuine anger after a recent clip emerged from his family vlog. In the video, a family arrives at the Joshi household for a formal arranged-marriage alliance meeting (rishta process) for Sourav’s younger brother, Sahil. Instead of putting the camera down to be a respectful host, Sourav kept the lens rolling, capturing the intense vulnerability, awkwardness, and nerves of the visiting family for daily content. To top it off, Sahil was allegedly filmed asking the girl point-blank in front of both families: “You never had a boyfriend in the past, right?”
Even if the entire setup was a orchestrated family prank (as some users claimed it was), it didn’t stop the Internet from calling out the YouTuber.
Brooo!! what kind of creature is Sourav joshi 😭Ladki wale Sahil ko dekhne aaye haiAnd Sahil’s elder brother is busy in filming their vlog
Think about the awkwardness girl’s family would be feeling. pic.twitter.com/RFBuG9QHNt

The Internet’s Secondhand Embarrassment
For most traditional Indian families, a rishta meeting is a private affair. Watching a camera crew track the room’s tension for YouTube monetisation sparked instant calling-out on X. One user commented, “Brooo!! what kind of creature is Sourav joshi 😭
Ladki wale Sahil ko dekhne aaye hai
And Sahil’s elder brother is busy in filming their vlog
Think about the awkwardness girl’s family would be feeling.”
Sourav joshi family gone made or what 😭😭Ladki wale dekhne aaye hai to uska pura vlog bana raha hai, sahil question to dekho sabke samne puch raha hai ki aapka koi bf to nahi tha na past mein?

Users also began calling out how the family seems to view major milestones, like marriage, purely through the lens of analytics and monetisation charts. One more user added, “Sourav joshi family gone made or what 😭😭
Ladki wale dekhne aaye hai to uska pura vlog bana raha hai, sahil question to dekho sabke samne puch raha hai ki aapka koi bf to nahi tha na past mein? Content ke liye kya kya kar rahe hai bhai? Family vlog hai to yeh sab bhi public?”
Another laughed off the video and wrote, “Joshi family was like – Content ki kami ho rahi hai, dono baccho ki shaadi karwa dete hai”
Is The Audience To Blame?
While most users targeted Sourav’s lack of boundaries, some people said this content only showcases what his audience wants to see. “I don’t blame him. This is what his consumers want to watch. That’s why his videos have millions of views.”
Another added, “Sourav Joshi’s family really takes content creation to another level😭 The girl’s family comes to meet them and instead of keeping it private the entire thing becomes a vlog. On top of that, questions like You never had a boyfriend in the past, right? are being asked in front of everyone. At some point, you have to wonder — does every personal family moment need to be public content?”
