One such comparison has now sparked a lively discussion online after a software engineer shared his experience of spending two weeks in Hyderabad after coming from Bengaluru. While he praised certain aspects of both cities, many social media users had very different views.
One Post Started The Debate
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the software engineer wrote, “Here is my review after spending 2 weeks in Hyderabad, coming from Bangalore. Things Bangalore is good at: food, public transport, weather, diversity of people, proximity to Kerala (easy trips).”
He ended the post by saying, “Things Hyderabad is good at: infrastructure.”
The brief comparison quickly drew attention online, with users weighing in based on their own experiences of living in the two cities.
While some agreed with his observations, others strongly disagreed, especially when it came to food and public transport.
Social Media Users Had Mixed Reactions
Many people questioned his view that Bengaluru offered better food options.
A user said, “Hyd food is miles miles better.” Another wrote, “Bangalore is good for food and public transport?? How old are you? Your brain has not developed enough i feel.”
A person shared a more detailed comparison based on years of living in both cities. They said, “8+ years in BLR 13+ yrs in Hyd Climate: BLR, HYD is also great except for Mar-May Food: BLR good for veggies, esp south Indian tiffins, HYD for Non Veg Biryani Freaks Public Transport: BLR – better Metro reach and buses, HYD – weak buses, smaller metro Infra: Hyd feels better.”

Another user simply questioned, “Bangalore and public transport?” A comment read, “Such a lame review, Hyderabad is way better than Bangalore. Bangalore is obsessed with language barrier.”
Someone else suggested, “Spend rainy seasons in both cities and rate again.”
A different user wrote, “Bangalore is good at people diversity, metro, green spaces like parks and gardens, weather and places for socialisation. Hyd is good at food diversity, road infrastructure, traffic etc.”
Another person added, “Food should be best in Hyderabad I have stayed in Bangalore for 5 years and as a Hyderabadi always missed the Hyderabadi food. Across India Hyd stands best cities for food especially non veg and tiffins.”
“Hyd food is way ahead bro … Bangalore is no where near,” another user commented.
