Prayagraj: Allahabad University (AU) has relaxed the eligibility criteria for admission to its four-year integrated BA-BEd programme for the 2026-27 academic session, allowing more candidates who appeared in the CUET-NCET 2026 examination to apply.According to a notification issued by AU’s director of admissions, Prof Kavinder, candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can register even if they did not appear in all the subjects specified for the entrance examination. The prescribed pattern includes Hindi and English in the language section, three domain subjects, teaching aptitude and the general test.The varsity has clarified that candidates who appeared in only one language — either Hindi or English — will also be eligible. In such cases, zero marks will be assigned for the language paper not attempted. Similarly, candidates who opted for at least one domain subject can also apply. If an applicant did not choose or appear in the second or third domain subject, the application will still be accepted, with zero marks being awarded for the missing subjects.Meanwhile, the varsity has highlighted the performance of its students in competitive examinations this year.According to the varsity, over 200 students qualified in various recruitment examinations so far in 2026.Among the recent achievements, 48 cleared the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission’s PGT Examination-2022, while six cleared the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board’s PGT Examination-2024.Earlier, 30 students were selected in the Agriculture Technical Assistant recruitment examination and 11 cleared the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission examination. AU students also registered notable success in the Civil Services Examination-2025, the results of which were declared earlier this year.
