Cultural events, mango showcase draw crowds on Day 2 of Mango Mela

Panchkula: The second day of the 33rd Mango Mela 2026 at Yadavindra Gardens, Pinjore, witnessed enthusiastic participation from tourists and mango lovers, with cultural performances, competitions and a display of over 200 varieties of the fruit emerging as the main attractions.Organised jointly by the Haryana Tourism Corporation and the horticulture department, the mela featured a series of competitions for children, including group dance, best out of waste and handwriting contests. Students from various schools took part with enthusiasm, showcasing their creativity and talent.The cultural programme began in the afternoon with performances by Haryanvi artists Saleem Haryanvi and Gagan Haryanvi. Later in the evening, Punjabi singers Shaminder Shammi and Ekam Bawa entertained the audience with live performances, with visitors dancing and singing along to popular numbers.A major crowd-puller remained the exhibition of more than 200 varieties of mangoes, offering visitors an opportunity to sample and learn about different cultivars from across the country.The food court and crafts bazaar also drew large crowds throughout the day, with families, children and tourists making the most of the festive atmosphere.The three-day event will conclude on July 12 with more competitions, cultural programmes, live performances and mango exhibitions.
