The minister also criticised Sanjay Raut’s language and political conduct, saying public representatives should maintain decorum in their remarks.

Rijiju’s remarks came after Raut alleged that efforts were underway to split Shiv Sena (UBT) and claimed large sums of money had been offered to party MPs.
Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday dismissed allegations by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut that the ruling parties were attempting to engineer defections through monetary inducements, saying the BJP does not engage in “money politics”.
Speaking at the News18 India Amrit Bharat Samman 2026 event in New Delhi, Rijiju said the BJP had no role in the developments unfolding within the Shiv Sena (UBT) camp and questioned how his party could be blamed when the MPs in question were not joining the BJP.
“It is nothing like that. He has a habit of making such statements. We don’t indulge in money politics. We do good politics. We want to do good work. Those who want to join us can join us,” Rijiju said in response to Raut’s allegations.
The minister also criticised Raut’s abusing language and political conduct, saying public representatives should maintain decorum in their remarks.
“I have seen him in the Rajya Sabha and heard his speeches. He uses inappropriate language. We tell everyone to use civilised language. He should not abuse people. That will not change the situation,” Rijiju said.
Referring to reports of unrest within Shiv Sena (UBT), he added, “If their MPs are leaving them, what can we do? They are not joining the BJP. If two parties are talking to each other, how can I interfere in that process?”
Rijiju’s remarks came after Raut alleged that efforts were underway to split Shiv Sena (UBT) and claimed large sums of money had been offered to party MPs.
Earlier in the day, Raut said he had information that Rs 15 crore had been delivered to each of the MPs allegedly involved in the rebellion.
“I have information that Rs 15 crore each was delivered to the MPs, after which they boarded charter flights from three places, including Nanded and Pune. We have issued a whip for the Parliamentary Party meeting tomorrow. Arvind ji (Arvind Sawant) has written to the Lok Sabha Speaker,” Raut said.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal also criticised Raut for allegedly using abusive language against the suspected rebel MPs.
“Will political life fall to such a low level? The kind of language he has used is unimaginable even from an ordinary person. Perhaps it is his frustration. He should introspect and consider why the party has reached such a situation. It means no one has faith in its leadership,” Pal said.
