Kanpur: District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Tuesday took cognisance of the absence of several officials from a review meeting related to the CM dashboard, development projects, construction works and revenue matters.The officials against whom action was initiated included tourism officer Neelam Gautam; project manager of the tourism department’s executing agency Sukhveer Singh; and Sandesh Singh Tomar. The DM directed the authorities to stop the disbursement of their salaries for absence from the meeting without approval. The DM warned of strict action against the officials of the departments getting poor rank. The also directed to issue show-cause notices to the officers of 12 projects which had failed to complete within the stipulated time.He stated that executing agencies share equal responsibility for maintaining the quality of construction works and completing them in a time-bound manner.Chief development officer Abhinav Jain, Joint Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Anubhav Singh, the chief medical officer, the Additional District Magistrate (City), and other concerned officials were present at the meeting.
