T’puram: The P Kesavadev Trust announced the winners of 22nd P Kesavadev Awards for 2026. The awards, instituted in memory of renowned writer and social reformer P Kesavadev, recognize excellence in literature and public service.The P Kesavadev Literary Award has been conferred on noted novelist, short story writer and journalist Subhash Chandran for his outstanding contribution to Malayalam literature. A recipient of Central and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards, Chandran is known for acclaimed works such as Manushyanu Oru Aamukham, Samudrashila and Ghadikaarangal Nilaykkunna Samayam..The P Kesavadev Diabscreen Kerala Award has been awarded to renowned physician Dr Thankam Subrahmanyan for her extraordinary act of donating a kidney to a stranger. The Trust said the award recognizes her selfless service and her efforts to promote awareness about living organ donation.Both awards carry a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a sculpture designed by artist B D Dathan and a citation. The awards will be presented by CM V D Satheesan at a function to be held at Hilton Garden Inn on Wednesday.
