Woman Says Hotel In Jaipur Asked Her To Cancel Her Booking Last Minute Due To A Wedding: ‘Worst Hospitality Ever’
A woman has accused Hyatt hotel in Jaipur of asking her to cancel a confirmed booking just a day before her trip due to a wedding at the location. She alleged that the hotel asked her to cancel after the free cancellation window on MakeMyTrip had already expired. Her video has sparked discussions about transparency and customer service of the hotel and the booking platform.
In the clip, the woman shared that she had booked a room for two at Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar through MakeMyTrip from July 3 to 5 and even received a confirmation mail from the hotel itself. She had done the booking a week before her scheduled travel to the city. However, she claimed that things took an unexpected turn just one day before their trip.
“Worst Hospitality Ever”
“This hotel in Jaipur spoiled our trip even without entering the hotel,” she said. “We booked Hyatt Mansarovar over one week before our travel date on MakeMyTrip and one day before our trip, when the timeline for free cancellation on MMT got over, Shubham from the hotel called saying there’s a wedding in the hotel. We suggest you cancel your booking so that you don’t get disturbed.”
She questioned the timing of the request and added, “Did this wedding come last minute? Why the f–k are you still showing available on MakeMyTrip if you want to cancel on individual guests?” Calling it the “worst hospitality ever”, she said, “Never thought a group like Hayat would do such a thing.”
She ended the clip, saying, “Maybe God really saved us because if this is how they behave before our visit, I wonder what it would have been during our stay.”

People Share Similar Experiences
The incident has sparked conversations about the inconveniences of using a third-party platform to book hotels, with many sharing similar experiences of last-minute hotel cancellations booked through MMT.
“@HyattJAIRJ all these hoteliers are frauds because they ask people to cancel because they sell rooms for weddings at higher price; that’s why they want you to cancel it, no ethics,” said a user.
Someone else shared, “@makemytrip is the worst. Imagine they cancelled my hotel Booking in Sri Lanka after I had already landed in Sri Lanka. Never using MakeMyTrip again.”
Another person commented, “GOI should introduce some guidelines to control these third-party apps for hotel booking because, as far as I know, there is no toll-free number for these service providers. But it is true that MMT is fraud platform. I have been frauded by them in 2021 for a booking at Vrindavan.”
“Same experience with Hyatt, Dehradun; all-night wedding dances just above my room, couldn’t sleep a wink, Hyatt didn’t offer another room saying none available,” a different person said.
