GHAZIABAD: A 25-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after he entered a house in Khoda Colony and shot at two sisters, injuring them both. Police said the accused was arranged to marry the older sister, but their engagement fell through.According to DCP (trans-Hindon) Dhawal Jaiswal, Johnny was engaged to Khushi (20) a year and a half ago. Their families got into a dispute and their engagement was called off three months ago. Johnny allegedly tried to talk to Khushi a few times but she refused to meet or talk to him.Around 4.20pm on Tuesday, Johnny barged into Khushi’s home in Lodhi Chowk, Khoda Colony, where she lives with her sister Nidhi (18), their brother and parents. He opened fire on both sisters and fled on his bike soon after. Khushi sustained three bullet wounds to the abdomen, while Nidhi received injuries to the jaw and face.Police received information about the shooting around 4.30pm and a team was sent to the spot. The sisters’ parents, who had rushed out after hearing the shots, brought them to a nearby hospital along with the cops, where they were referred to a Delhi hospital for further treatment.An FIR was filed and five police teams were formed to trace the accused, who was arrested from Sihani Gate three hours after the incident.The DCP added that Johnny had recorded a 1 minute and 31 second video after the shooting where he alleged that Khushi’s family had taken Rs 2 lakh from him, which he had saved for the wedding, but broke off the engagement when he asked for the money back. He also allegedly claimed he would surrender to the police in the video.
