The United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (UFRWA) has urged the State Government to coordinate with the Telangana Waqf Board, the Registration & Stamps Department, and district revenue authorities to correct land records and restore certain survey numbers to Mallapur village in Uppal mandal.
In representations made to IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Minorities Welfare Minister Mohd. Azharuddin and others, the associations said that, despite clear gazette notifications and court orders, these survey numbers continue to be wrongly linked to Malkajgiri mandal.
As a result, properties under these survey numbers have been placed on the ‘22-A Prohibited Properties List’ at the Malkajgiri sub-registrar’s office. This has blocked registrations, mutations, and access to bank loans, causing significant hardship to property owners.
The issue stems from an alleged error in recording Waqf lands belonging to the Dargah Hazrat Koh-e-Moula Ali. Residents across several colonies in the Malkajgiri constituency—including Devi Nagar, Sainik Nagar, Krishna Nagar, New Vidyanagar, Balaram Nagar, Seetharam Nagar, Old Safilguda, and Ram Brahma Nagar—continue to face difficulties.
According to High Court Case File C.R.P. No. 5057 of 2008 and official records, survey numbers 3, 103, 104, 105, 144, 145, 146, and 147–154 do not fall under Malkajgiri mandal. The associations maintain that legal and administrative evidence clearly establishes these lands as part of Mallapur village in Uppal manda
Those seeking to sell or register their properties are often forced to approach the High Court, spending up to ₹1 lakh to secure a direction to the sub-registrar—without such orders conferring ownership rights. UFRWA general secretary B.T. Srinivasan said in a press release that despite Mr. Sridhar Babu directing the Waqf Board to rectify the error, no corrective action has been taken so far.
