Udupi: Police have arrested two more persons for allegedly conspiring and financing the murder of Prince Enterprises owner and former gram panchayat president David D’Souza at Mudrangadi in Kaup taluk.The arrested accused have been identified as Sadananda Devadiga alias Sadananda A, 41, of Bada Yermal village in Kaup taluk, and Kishore Rama Poojary, 47, of Uchila Bada village in Kaup taluk.Police seized two mobile phones, a motorcycle and cash allegedly linked to the crime from Sadananda. From Kishore, police seized three mobile phones and a car allegedly used in connection with the crime. Police said they will produce the accused before the jurisdictional court.D’Souza was shot dead in Mudarangadi at around 3.45pm on Aug 7. According to police, two assailants arrived on a motorcycle, and the pillion rider allegedly shot D’Souza in the head with a pistol. A murder case was registered at Shirva police station and an investigation launched.Police had earlier arrested Anmol Rastogi and Jiahul Wazul Sheikh alias Deepak, who were allegedly directly involved in the crime. They were questioned in police custody.SP Hariram Shankar said examination of their bank accounts reportedly revealed that Mohammad Irshad and Chirag Poojary had transferred money to the accused and facilitated the crime. They were subsequently arrested.Further analysis of bank accounts, mobile phones, call detail records, movements and CCTV footage led investigators to two alleged key conspirators who reportedly financed the murder.Another accused, identified as Raju, who was allegedly directly involved in the murder, is undergoing inpatient treatment at the district govt hospital in Ajjarkad after being injured in connection with an attempted murder case involving govt employees registered at Byndoor police station. Police said they would take him into custody for further questioning after his discharge from the hospital.Further investigation is under way.
