Gorakhpur: A two-hour spell of heavy rain on Thursday morning brought relief from humid conditions but left several parts of Gorakhpur grappling with waterlogging and traffic disruptions.The downpour began around 11 am and inundated roads across the city, turning several stretches into waterlogged pools. Several two-wheelers stalled in the accumulated water, forcing riders to push their vehicles through flooded streets.Strong winds, estimated at 30-40 kmph, accompanied the rain, reducing visibility and prompting motorists to switch on headlights and wipers while navigating slippery roads.The showers also exposed persistent drainage issues, with waterlogging reported from several low-lying areas and major intersections. Traffic slowed considerably as vehicles moved cautiously through flooded stretches.In several localities, overflowing drains added to commuters’ woes and disrupted normal movement.
