‘Hubballi: The district administration, in association with the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC), organised a ‘Tiranga Run’ at Unkal Lake on Friday as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations. Adding to the patriotic fervour, personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services Department displayed the Tricolour at Unkal Lake, while students presented Mallakhamba performances showcasing traditional poses and formations. Rajya Sabha member M Nagaraj, mayor Durgamma Bijawad, corporator Rajanna Koravi, Dharwad DC Snehal R, ZP CEO Bhuvanesh Patil, HDMC commissioner Rudresh S Ghali, additional deputy commissioner Geetha CD, probationary IAS officer Anupriya Sakya, assistant commissioner Prabhavati Fakirpur, DCP Shruti NS, Hubballi Urban tahsildar Mahesh Bhagavanth Gaste, assistant director of the department of youth empowerment and sports Sadanand Amarapur, district fire officer Basavaraj GK, Raju, and several district- and taluk-level officials from various departments participated in the event. Students from different schools and members of the public also took part in the programme, which celebrated the spirit of patriotism and national unity ahead of Independence Day.
