CM Mohan Charan Majhi in Puri on Monday

Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday said those who indulged in politics or displayed arrogance in the name of Lord Jagannath had faced the consequences in the elections, hinting at TMC’s defeat in the West Bengal assembly polls and BJP coming to power for the first time.Speaking at an event organised by Shree Jagannath Bhakta Seva Sansthan to felicitate him for his efforts to protect Jagannath culture and uphold Odia identity on the global stage, the CM said West Bengal CM Shubhendu Adhikari had respected the sentiments of the people of Odisha and the Jagannath Temple servitors by promptly announcing the withdrawal of the word ‘dham’ from the name of the shrine in Digha. The CM noted that the use of the word ‘dham’ for the newly built temple in Digha had hurt the spiritual sentiments of Odias.
