Trent Rockets won its first women’s Hundred title after defeating Sunrisers Leeds by eight wickets in the final at Lord’s on Sunday.
It was a commanding display by the Ashleigh Gardner led-side, outplaying Leeds in all three departments in a heavily one-sided contest. Rockets has the chance to secure a prestigious double, as it will take on Manchester Super Giants in the men’s final later in the evening.
Earlier in the evening, Rockets won the toss and opted to bowl first. Leeds, put into bat, got off to the worst possible start losing opener Bryony Smith and Lauren Winfield-Hill in the space of 18 runs.
Phoebe Litchfield, the top-run scorer in the competition, struck a four and a six off her first three balls and looked good for another impactful innings. However, the Australian was snared by Charley Phillips to deal a huge blow to Leeds.

Litchfield had to walk back for 10 off 5 balls, and the rest of the batters failed to compensate for the failures of the top three.
Deepti Sharma struggled to get going and was dismissed for 12 off 16 balls, and did not bowl in the second innings to round out a highly successful campign on a disappointing note.
Annabel Sutherland (25 off 23 balls) and Dani Gibson (22 off 16 balls) tried their best to stage a comeback but unfortunately for the 2025 champions, the day belonged to the Rockets’ bowlers.
Sam Bates picked two wickets (2/17) to end the competition as the leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps from nine matches, at an impressive average of 14.46.
Bates was supported well by Kim Garth (2/18), Phillips (2/12), and Georgia Adams (2/9) as Leeds were bowled out for a paltry 91.
In the second innings, openers Sophia Dunkley (41 off 23 balls) and Beth Mooney (31* off 21 balls) battered the bowlers with some fine stroke play, showing Leeds how its done with the bat.
In the end, Rockets chased down the target with ease to emerge as champions.
