Jhansi: A 19-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly killing his 15-year-old cousin over a dispute regarding the distribution of wages earned through labour work.According to police, the teenager had gone missing from his home on July 19, following which his family lodged a missing person’s complaint at Babina police station.The boy’s body was, however, found in a well in Khajaraha Buzurg village on July 20.Police sent the body for postmortem examination and, based on the findings, added murder charges to the case and intensified the investigation.The accused, identified as Ashiq Ahirwar, was eventually arrested and allegedly confessed to killing his cousin during questioning.Circle officer (Sadar) Priya Singh said that the accused and the victim worked together as labourers at the same place.She said that an argument broke out between the two over the distribution of wages, after which Ahirwar allegedly attacked the teenager with a stone, resulting in his death. He later dumped the body in a well in an attempt to conceal the crime.Singh said the accused had been remanded to judicial custody and sent to jail.
