Skoda Peaq unveiled: 7-seat electric SUV with up to 647 km range!

Skoda has taken the wraps off its new flagship electric SUV, the Peaq. Positioned at the top of the brand’s EV line-up, the three-row electric SUV is set to rival premium family-focused electric models such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Volvo EX90 in global markets.

Skoda Peaq: Design and dimensions

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ electric vehicle platform, the Peaq measures 4,874 mm in length, 1,867 mm in width and 1,664 mm in height, while its wheelbase stands at 2,965 mm. It provides a 299-litre boot with all seats in place. Folding the third row expands luggage capacity to 935 litres, while an additional 37-litre front trunk adds extra storage space. The Peaq follows Skoda’s latest Modern Solid design philosophy. Up front, the SUV features a gloss-black closed-off ‘Tech Deck’ panel instead of a traditional grille, flanked by T-shaped Matrix LED headlamps and a full-width lighting signature. Functional air vents have also been incorporated into the bumper to help cool the vehicle’s electrical components. Moving to the rear, the SUV gets T-shaped LED tail lamps, a dual-tone bumper, a roof-mounted spoiler and a shark-fin antenna. Flush-fitting door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels are also part of the package.

Other features include a panoramic sunroof, dual wireless smartphone chargers, USB charging ports across all three rows and a 16-speaker Sonos audio system. Skoda has also introduced a digital key feature for the first time, allowing owners to lock and unlock the vehicle using a smartphone or smartwatch. Higher-spec versions can additionally be equipped with a head-up display, massaging front seats with power-adjustable leg rests and foldable tables for rear passengers.

Skoda Peaq: Powertrain

Skoda will offer the Peaq in three variants. The entry-level Peaq 60 uses a 63 kWh battery pack paired with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 204 hp. This version delivers a claimed driving range of 459 km and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 8.6 seconds. The mid-spec Peaq 90 comes equipped with a larger 91 kWh battery pack and a more powerful rear-mounted motor producing 286 hp. It offers the highest claimed range in the line-up at 647 km and completes the 0-100 kmph sprint in 7.1 seconds. At the top of the range sits the Peaq 90x, which combines the 91 kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. The system generates 299 hp, helping the SUV accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. It delivers a claimed range of 613 km. All variants support fast charging, with the Peaq capable of accepting DC charging speeds of up to 199 kW.
