Jaipur: A 27-year-old man was arrested on Friday in connection with Rajasthan police Sub-Inspector Recruitment Examination-2021 paper leak case for allegedly clearing the written examination after studying a leaked solved question paper obtained through the paper leak network.Police identified the accused as Brijesh Kumar Meena, a resident of Dausa district. According to the Special Operations Group (SOG), he allegedly secured access to the leaked paper through the network operated by the alleged kingpin of the scam and subsequently passed the written examination, though he failed to qualify in the physical efficiency test and was not selected as a sub-inspector.Additional Director General of Police (SOG) Vishal Bansal said the arrest was made during the investigation of a case registered by the SOG in 2024 in connection with the SI recruitment examination paper leak.Investigators alleged that before the examination, Brijesh’s father, Swaroop Chand Meena alias Kishanlal Meena, struck a deal worth Rs 45 lakh with alleged paper leak kingpin Harshvardhan Kumar Meena. Police said the leaked solved paper was provided to Brijesh through intermediaries before he appeared for the examination in Ajmer on September 15, 2021.According to the SOG, Brijesh scored 116.23 marks out of 200 in the Hindi paper and 126.01 marks out of 200 in the General Knowledge paper after allegedly studying the leaked material. Investigators claim the marks enabled him to clear the written examination illegally.Police also said two other criminal cases are registered against the accused. One relates to the Rajasthan High Court LDC Recruitment Examination-2022, in which he is accused of securing selection by allegedly using a dummy candidate to write the examination on his behalf. The second case pertains to the MTS Recruitment Examination-2022, in which investigators allege that he appeared as a dummy candidate for another person. The agency said both alleged paper leak kingpin Harshvardhan Kumar Meena and Brijesh’s father, Swaroop Chand Meena, had been arrested earlier in the SI recruitment examination paper leak case and charge sheets have already been filed against them in court.Officials said the arrest takes the total number of accused held in the SI paper leak case to 145 so far. The investigation is continuing to identify other beneficiaries and members of the network.
