The Tambaram police are investigating the death of a security guard who was found dead in Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) in the early morning on Sunday (July 26, 2026).
A senior official of the Tambaram Police Commissionerate said Muniyan, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Kadapperi near Tambaram was working as a security guard in a private pharmaceutical company located in the Tambaram MEPZ complex, for the past eight months.
On Saturday (July 25) night, he had reported for duty but did not return home. Based on the alert from his relative, the Tambaram police launched a search. A police team found him dead near the company premises, lying in a pool of blood with a severe injury to the left side of his face.
Tambaram Police Inspector Chelladurai, after inspecting the crime scene, sent the body to the Tambaram Government hospital for post-mortem examination.
