A Jharkhand woman’s claim that she allegedly scored 299.175 out of 300 in the state PGT recruitment exam but still failed to make the selection list has gone viral on social media.
The issue comes at a time when thousands of students in Ranchi have been staging peaceful protests against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC).
Protesters have been holding marches and even nighttime study sessions, surviving on biscuits as part of an indefinite satyagraha. They have alleged paper leaks, evaluation errors, and a lack of transparency, while demanding fresh examinations and an independent investigation into the recruitment process.
According to reports, demonstrators have followed a strict code of conduct to ensure their movement remains peaceful and does not disrupt traffic.
Several observers have praised the protests for focusing on merit-based recruitment rather than political affiliations, despite receiving comparatively less national attention than other recruitment-related controversies involving investigations and arrests in Jharkhand.
Amid the ongoing protests, a video featuring a woman from Bokaro surfaced online and quickly gained traction. In the clip, she says, “Bokaro se hu or mai 3 saal se JSSC, JPSC ki preparation kar rhi thi.” She further adds, “Mai 2023 mein PGT ka exam diya tha.”
The video was widely circulated after being shared on X by user @Indian_Analyzer, who reposted it from @Magadh Updates.
The viral post read:”🚨 SHOCKING 🚨A girl who scored 299.175 out of 300 in the Jharkhand PGT exam still remained UNSELECTED 🤯 ‘What more should a student do to get selected?’ she asks.”
The post soon drew significant engagement, with social media users expressing shock, frustration and disbelief over the claim.
One user wrote, “Scored 299.175 out of 300 in Jharkhand PGT exam and still not selected. What more can a student do? This shows the mess in recruitment- opacity, alleged scams and failure of the system. Jharkhand government must fix this and give justice to hardworking aspirants.”
Another commented, “You can’t get selected. If selected, will tortured enough to commit suicide or resign. Best is become a YouTber at this very age. Otherwise suffer whole life. In medicine, you can only survive if you become a THUG. It is not for genuine people.”
Expressing surprise at the score itself, a third user wrote, “How can someone score 299 something out of 300…. Oh my gosh. It’s either the question was too easy or she’s a brilliant?”

Another user remarked, “When ppl with cheap marks r getting selected y would anyone go for expensive marks 😭🤣. These r the same ppl with negative marks question 🇮🇳 capabilities & want to beat China. Reserved minds…🤣😭”
A fifth user sarcastically commented, “She had to score 320 marks out of 300.”
Echoing the concerns raised by many others, another person said, “Valid question asked. If even after scoring nearly out of marks and still not selected. Then it’s right to ask what else is required to get selected.”
