A unique mango party in San Francisco has sparked a buzz online after attendees shared clips of crowds lining up to taste Indian mangoes. The event, which featured hundreds of free Alphonso and Kesar mangoes, has drawn attention from social media users across the world.

The event came into the spotlight after X user @Jared_Seidel_ shared his experience attending the gathering. Posting about the occasion, he wrote, “Indian Mango party, Best mangos I’ve had. Incredible vibes. Got interviewed by the SF chronicle. I was 1 of 4 white guys (200 people came).” According to his post, he was also among the organisers of the event.

The San Francisco Mango Party was reportedly organised in response to the growing popularity and demand for Indian mangoes in the United States. Beyond showcasing the fruit, the event aimed to bring together mango lovers during the brief seasonal window when Indian mangoes are available.

Hundreds of Alphonso and Kesar mangoes were distributed free of charge, while volunteers peeled, sliced and served the fruit to attendees on-site.

Clips from the event quickly spread across social media, with several attendees sharing their enthusiasm after tasting the famed Indian varieties. One user wrote, “Indian Mango party Best mangos I’ve had. Incredible vibes. Got interviewed by the SF chronicle. I was 1 of 4 white guys (200 people came).” (sic)

Another attendee posted, “mango tango weekend in sf🥭I’ve never had such tasty mangoes before – huge thanks to hosts!,” while a third commented, “Mango party was fun, thanks for hosting @darshil.”

The event was organised by Indian-origin organiser Darshil, who presented it as both a community celebration and an effort to address increasing interest in Indian mangoes.

Ahead of the gathering, he had promoted the event online, writing, “Last year we put some of the best minds at work to solve the mango shortage and we’re BACK.” He also announced that the “4th annual SF mango party” would be held later this month.

As the post gained momentum online, social media users flooded the comments section with a mix of humour, appreciation and criticism.

“At some point during this event, bro said “alr ima count the white guys here for my tweet,” said one user.

Another joked, “Glucose levels off the charts!!”

Praising the celebration, a third user wrote, “Nothing beats diving into the pure rasa of Indian mangoes in full community mode! So glad you got to experience the king of fruits and those unbeatable summer vibes in SF. (Alphonso gang, right? 😉”

Not all reactions were positive, however. One user commented, “Sorry white boy if no white girls ever loved you enough to let you watch her make a smoothie. We like our mangos frozen in our smoothies. We toss in a cup of zero sugar fat free fage yogurt. It tastes delish. It doesn’t cause bugs nor disruption in a beloved American park.”

Another raised concerns about food safety, writing, “But don’t consume Indian mangoes, they are full of pesticides insecticides & harmful chemicals.”

Meanwhile, many Indians joined the discussion to express their affection for the fruit. One user summed up the sentiment by writing, “In india summer means Mango 😍❤️ summer Is incomplete without mango 😋”
