At a time when Indians are being criticised worldwide for their public behaviour and civic sense, a railway police officer has been garnering widespread attention online for his strict approach to maintaining order at a station. In a video that has gone viral, the officer was seen taking swift action against passengers who attempted to bypass a queue while boarding a train.
In the clip, which was recorded at an undisclosed location, a large crowd of passengers were seen waiting on a platform to board a train as per orders by the authorities. Most of them stood patiently in a long, orderly line and waited for their turn to enter the coaches, a few decided otherwise.

As the queue advanced, some individuals were seen trying to gain an advantage by skipping the line altogether. Some tried to rush directly towards the gate of the coach, while others attempted to reserve a seat for themselves by tossing their belongings inside through a window before boarding the train.
When a railway police officer spotted those people skipping the line, he immediately intervened. He charged at them with a laathi and ordered them to stand in the line like others. While that was happening, a bunch of people decided to enter the queue mid-way by cutting others. Noticing that, the officer once again stepped in and confronted them. His repeated interventions send a clear message to all the passengers that no indiscipline would be tolerated.
Following this, no one else dared to skip the queue or attempt to enter it mid-way. Passengers remained in an orderly line and continued to board the train as and when their turn came.
Once it caught the attention of people online, the clip has sparked a debate. While some praised the officer for his prompt action, others questioned if using force was justified.

A person commented, “Looks like this is the last resort to teach civic sense to us.”
“That’s the only language the people of the subcontinent understand, unfortunately. Show them a little leniency & they’ll again try to create confusion & chaos,” quipped someone else.
“Make this officer a civic sense minister or brand ambassador, as that is the only language Indians understand,” someone else said.
Meanwhile, one individual said, “How dare he lay hands on a passenger? They are not his slaves; they paid ticket fare. If I were I would have banged him the same way if he laid hands on me.”
