Mysuru: In a big relief to the district administration, the Mysuru royal family on Saturday announced that it will allow the former to use the Lalitha Mahal Palace grounds for parking of vehicles during Ashadha celebrations for crowd control atop the Chamundi Hills.The royal family matriarch Pramoda Devi Wadiyar has made it clear that there is no objection to use the grounds for the parking of devotees’ vehicles during July-Aug Ashadha celebrations.In a letter to the DC G Lakshmikantha Reddy, she said: “I am happy to permit the use of the grounds for vehicle parking for the required period to facilitate ease and convenience of devotees for Goddess Chamundeshwari Temple visit atop Chamundi Hills. I trust that the necessary arrangements will be made to ensure the orderly management and maintenance of the premises during its use.”This year, Ashadha celebrations begin on July 17. During Ashadha Fridays and weekends, the grounds turn parking space for devotees’ vehicles and also temporary stand for KSRTC buses. KSRTC buses are arranged to ferry devotees to the temple.
