Ranchi: The three-day Krishi Vyapar Mela concluded on Thursday with strong farmer participation, active technology dissemination and rising interest — especially among youth — in agriculture and allied sectors. Exhibitors said the fair was an effective platform to connect with farmers, share technical knowledge and encourage improved farming practices.Stalls covered horticulture, fisheries, poultry, animal husbandry, fertilisers, agricultural equipment and value-added farm products. Farmers and visitors interacted with experts to learn about new technologies, cultivation methods and market opportunities.ICAR-RCER representatives said they joined the fair to disseminate technologies and supply quality planting materials and seedlings at affordable rates, adding that the event helped them reach thousands of visitors and build new contacts.SIDHKOFED said its focus was on strengthening farmer engagement and promoting organised marketing of minor forest produce by linking farmers to cooperative networks and directly to industries; it reported heavy enquiry volumes, with promotional materials often running out by evening. IFFCO officials noted a positive farmer response to displays of fertilisers, urea and agricultural tools, with discounts offered on selected products.Visitors said the fair helped them understand modern agricultural practices and explore opportunities in fisheries, poultry, horticulture and value-added products.Exhibitors described the event as both a marketplace and a knowledge-sharing and networking platform, with participants hoping similar fairs continue to boost technology adoption, market linkages and income opportunities for farmers.
