Jaipur: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) registrations in Rajasthan fell 16% to 10.45 lakh in 2025-26 from 12.47 lakh a year earlier, marking a decline of over two lakh registrations in a single year, according to data provided by Union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises. The state had recorded 11.29 lakh registrations in 2023-24. Minister of state for micro, small and medium enterprises, Shobha Karandlaje, gave this reply in response to an unstarred question in Lok Sabha raised by Congress MP Rahul Kaswan.Despite the decline in registrations, employment reported by MSMEs on the Udyam Registration Portal (URP) and Udyam Assist Platform (UAP) rose sharply to 52.21 lakh in 2025-26 from 44.53 lakh in 2024-25.The data showed that employment increased from 35.42 lakh in 2023-24 to 44.53 lakh in 2024-25, and further to 52.21 lakh in 2025-26.The state also witnessed a significant increase in credit guarantees extended to micro and small enterprises. Under Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGS), 85,848 guarantees amounting to Rs 9,180 crore were approved in 2023-24. This rose to 1,20,424 guarantees worth Rs 13,865 crore in 2024-25 and further to 1,22,758 guarantees involving Rs 21,308 crore in 2025-26.Under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), the number of units assisted also recovered sharply in 2025-26 after declining the previous year. The state assisted 1,678 units in 2023-24, with margin money support of Rs 124.06 crore and estimated employment generation of 13,424.In 2024-25, the number of assisted units fell to 916, while margin money support declined to Rs 72.48 crore and estimated employment generation stood at 7,328. The scheme saw a strong rebound in 2025-26, with 1,655 units assisted, involving margin money of Rs 122.76 crore and estimated employment generation of 13,240.
